Gloria K offers both beginning and intermediate to advanced courses. These courses may be taken individually, but many students take both levels.
We offer group as well as one-on-one training. Class sizes are small (usually 5 or 6 students). Our facility is located in Great Neck, NY.
This is an introductory course designed to teach alphabetic and numberic keyboarding utilizing computerized software. Emphasis is placed on development of accuracy and a reasonable rate of speed.
This course is designed to continue the development of keyboarding skills, to build speed and accuracy, and to provide practice in applying those basic skills to the formatting of letters, reports, tables, memos, and other kinds of personal and business communications.
This course includes Word, Excel and the Internet/E-mail. Create letters, memos, reports; build professional looking spreadsheets with formulas; send and receive e-mail (including attachments); browe the Internet and effectively search or and find information using search engines.
This course furnishes comprehensive instruction in the fundamental principles of general ledger bookkeeping, including recording transactions, maintaining a set of active books, preparation and interpretation of relevant monthly reports, closing books at the end of fiscal periods and the reconciliation of bank statements. Procedures involving receivables, payables and payroll are emphasized. Note: It is recommended that you take this course in conjunction with QuickBooks to learn about computerized bookkeeping.
This course includes everything to help you prepare for and pass the A+ certification test. A broad range of hardware, software and networking technologies are covered. Students will learn how to diagnose and troubleshoot computer hardware and software problems, disassemble and reassemble PCs, identify and understand the function of hardware components, configure operating systems, and identify the components of a Local Area Network. No prior PC knowledge is necessary.
An intensive course designed to teach students the principles of ABC Stenoscript theory, develop facility in writing and reading Stenoscript snd transcribing notes. Students are expected to achieve shorthand speeds of 80 wpm. Special emphasis is placed on use of workbook material for drill and dictation.
Gloria K is a NYS Licensed computer training center centrally located in Nassau County, Long Island, NY. We offer corporate training and training to individuals. Our class sizes are small, typically fewer than eight students. All of our courses are taught with a live instructor. Each student sits at their own computer in a modern setting. We offer additional courses in Microsoft Office, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Outlook, and we also offer a QuickBooks course.
We are centrally located on Long Island, serving Nassau, Suffolk and Queens.
