In as little as one day, you can receive hands-on training in all popular software and other business essentials at our state-of-the-art training center -- whether you want to upgrade your skills or add new ones.

You’ll receive one-on-one instruction in small, private group sessions – mornings, afternoons, evenings and weekends. Our instructors are all New York State Certified and our training center is accredited by the New York State Department of Education. Certificates of completion are available and awarded to participants upon successful completion of the course.

Overcome computer fear with Quick Start! This Gloria K program was designed to help students establish a solid beginning and foundation in computers. Learn the proper keyboarding techniques to take you full speed ahead. Computer Basics, designed with the beginner in mind, will teach you how to function on the computer and to expose you to a variety of software packages such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Follow up and expand your skill level with Beginning Word and Excel.

COURSES
Career Essentials 50 HOURS

This course includes Word, Excel and the Internet/E-mail. Create letters, memos reports; build professional looking spreadsheets with formulas; send and receive e-mail (including attachments); browse the Internet and effectively search for and find information using search engines.

Computer Basics 40 HOURS

A well-structured survey course in computer applications. Students will develop familiarity with the operation of a personal computer and the Windows Operating Systems. Students are introduced to Word Processing using MS Word, Spreadsheets using MS Excel and Graphics Presentation using MS PowerPoint. Internet and E-mail features are also covered.

Keyboarding 35 HOURS

An introductory course designed to teach alphabetic and numeric keyboarding utilizing computerized software. Emphasis is placed on development of accuracy and a reasonable rate of speed.

Intermediate Keyboarding 35 HOURS

Designed to continue the development of keyboarding skills, to build speed and accuracy, and to provide practice in applying those basic skills to the formatting of letters, reports, tables, memos, and other kinds of personal and business communications.

Beginning Word 30 HOURS

This course is designed to offer the student a basic understanding of word processing concepts. Topics include creating and editing documents, saving and retrieving files, document formatting and text enhancements.

Intermediate Word 30 HOURS

Students are instructed in intermediate features of Microsoft Word for Windows. Topics covered in this course include mail merge, paragraph formatting and indentation, tabs, borders and shading, tables, newspaper-style columns and headers and footers. Utilities such as find and replace, and managing repetitive tasks using autocorrect, autotext and autoformat are also covered.

Advanced Word 40 HOURS

This course covers the advanced features of Microsoft Word. Topics of instruction include Styles and Advanced style features, advanced mail merge, templates, tracking changes, outlines and graphics. Master documents, Field Codes, Table of Contents, Table of Authorities, Indexes, and Macros are also covered.

Beginning Excel 30 HOURS

Students are introduced to Microsoft Excel for Windows. Basic topics covered include creating a spreadsheet, entering text, numbers and formulas, formatting spreadsheets, printing, saving and retrieving workbooks. Students will learn the composition of basic spreadsheets for business applications.

Advanced Excel 30 HOURS
Students are introduced to advanced Microsoft Excel for Windows. An intensive course for those wishing to pursue advanced spreadsheet applications such as absolute cell references, pivot tables, advanced functions and formats, the database capabilities of a spreadsheet program, creating charts and graphs using the macro utility.

PowerPoint 30 HOURS

This program provides assistance in the layout and design phase through the use of slides which can appear as on-screen slide shows or printed handouts. This course will introduce you to templates, clip art, and wizards, which are used in the creation and enhancement of presentations. Organizational charts, text, graphs and other special effects will also be covered.

Outlook 30 HOURS

Make communication tasks easier and streamline your schedule with Outlook. This 30 hour program will teach you how to manage e-mail, manage personal and business contacts, set up a calendar, schedule appointments and meetings, set up reminders and tasks, and manage electronic files and folders.

Beginning Access 30 HOURS

Students will learn the fundamentals of database management. Topics include setting up tables, editing records within tables, using different data types, searching for and sorting data, filtering techniques, running queries and creating basic forms and reports.

Intermediate Access 30 HOURS

Students will learn how to create, manage and improve databases. Topics include relational database design, advanced table design, relating tables, referential integrity, querying relational databases, calculated and lookup fields, using complex controls with forms and improving report design.

FrontPage 30 HOURS

This program contains all of the tools to create, publish and manage a professional-quality Web site. FrontPage includes dozens of features to make Web creation fun and easy. Components such as custom themes, style sheets, and templates can be used to give your Web site an attractive, consistent look. Pictures, text and graphics can easily be added to a Web. Other topics covered are creating Hyperlinks, Hover Buttons, and adding sound effects and music to a Web. Review and practice exercises are integrated into the program.

QuickBooks 30 HOURS

Students will learn computerized bookkeeping utilizing the QuickBooks software. This program will expose students to basic and more advanced tools used to set up and manage a business. Learn how to create invoices, make payments, manage receivables, and produce instant reports and charts. Setting up and managing payroll is also covered. Note: It is recommended that you take QuickBooks in conjunction with our Bookkeeping course to learn more about the accounting cycle, accounting principals, and terminology.

Bookkeeping 70 HOURS

This course furnishes comprehensive instruction in the fundamental principles of general ledger bookkeeping, including recording transactions, maintaining a set of active books, preparation and interpretation of relevant monthly reports, closing books at the end of fiscal periods and the reconciliation of bank statements. Procedures involving receivables, payables and payroll are emphasized. Note: It is recommended that you take this course in conjunction with QuickBooks to learn about computerized bookkeeping.

A+ Certification Preparation 60 HOURS

This course includes everything to help you prepare for and pass the A+ certification test. This course covers a broad range of hardware, software and networking technologies. Students will learn how to diagnose and troubleshoot computer hardware and software problems, disassemble and reassemble PCs, identify and understand the function of hardware components, configure operating systems, and identify the components of a Local Area Network. No prior PC knowledge is necessary.

ABC Stenoscript Shorthand 70 HOURS

An intensive course designed to teach students the principles of ABC Stenoscript theory, develop facility in writing and reading Stenoscript and transcribing notes. Students are expected to achieve shorthand speeds of 80 wpm. Special emphasis is placed on use of workbook material for drill and dictation.
